10. Chris Davis – BAL

9. Hanley Ramirez – BOS

8. Jose Abreu – CWS

7. Brandon Belt – SF

6. Wil Myers – SD

5. Joey Votto – CIN

4. Miguel Cabrera – DET

3. Anthony Rizzo – CHC

2. Freddie Freeman – ATL

1. Paul Goldschmidt – ARI

Some people viewed Goldschmidt’s 2016 year as a “down” year. He had a slash line of .297/.411/.489 to go with 24 HR, 95 RBI and 32 SB. If that is a “down” year for you, then I don’t know how to please you. Freddie Freeman had the best offensive numbers of first basemen, but I like Goldy’s consistency year to year. Goldschmidt has two gold gloves as well. Freeman could be on the rise, and if he duplicates his 2016 year, then he would be the top first baseman in baseball.
