The 2017 schedule is out. Lets take a look….
SEPTEMBER 2 VIRGINIA TECH (FedEx Field)
Not going to be hard to get up for this game. Rivalry renewed. First meeting since 2005. Battle for the Black Diamond Trophy. Can’t wait.
SEPTEMBER 9 EAST CAROLINA
I like getting the Pirates back on the schedule. 22nd all time meeting and a quality G5 game to prepare for the Big 12 gauntlet.
SEPTEMBER 16 DELAWARE STATE
Brutal game. No way around it. I understand having to fill a game but my goodness what a bad team. The Hornets played one FBS foe this past season, Missouri, who the Mountaineers beat 26-11 this year, and lost 79-0. They have only one win the past two seasons. ONE. Only three wins the past three seasons. Not good. And the best part is we have to pay them $500,000 for the honor of driving 6 hours to take their beating. Hurts my brain and my heart to know that we have the likes of a Delaware State on the schedule and not Pitt or Maryland. I understand money rules. Doesn’t make it hurt any less though…
SEPTEMBER 23 at KANSAS
Fly to Lawrence. Win. Come home healthy. Bye Week.
OCTOBER 7 at TCU
Gauntlet begins. Who knows what TCU will be this year. Gotta win the winnable games. For us, this should be a winnable game.
OCTOBER 14 TEXAS TECH
Front end of the schedule seems like a gift from the Big 12 schedule makers. Easing in to the pain. Just need to stay healthy and take care of business.
OCTOBER 21 at BAYLOR
Gotta kick the Bears while they are down. Matt Rhule has the athletes and the facilities. Does he have the ability to right this sinking circus of a ship?
OCTOBER 28 OKLAHOMA STATE
Huge game. Could be for drivers seat to Jerry’s World. This has night game on Fox written all over it.
NOVEMBER 4 IOWA STATE
No more Thanksgiving week for the Riot Bowl. I have a feeling the Cyclones won’t continue to be the tiny speed bumps they have been the past few years. Could be an unwanted fist fight.
NOVEMBER 11 at KANSAS STATE
Bill Snyder doesn’t lose games. He requires the opponent to win them. We finally figured it out last year. Will the Cats be better in 2017? I’m guessing yes.
NOVEMBER 18 TEXAS
Welcome to the party Tommy Herman. Late meeting with the Longhorns might mean that the Herman effect has taken in Austin. Could be extremely dangerous.
NOVEMBER 25 at OKLAHOMA
Yikes. This game could go from sipping beer to chugging liquor pretty fast. Just hoping it doesn’t eventually go to bleach.
