Future Schedule Breakdown

It appears WVU is making moves again to add to the insanely competitive non conference slate they already have. Florida State looks to be the next neutral site extravaganza. This time in the new Falcons stadium in Atlanta for the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Classic in 2020. Lets take a minute to look at the heavy hitters WVU has lined up for the future with Florida State thrown into the 2020 block…

2016 2017
  • 09/03 – Missouri
  • 09/10 – Youngstown State
  • 09/24 – BYU (at Landover, MD)
2018 2019
2020 2021
2022 2023
2024 2025

What a decade long gauntlet. ACC, SEC, B1G. How can a kid look at these future games and not want to be a part of it? WVU is trying its best to be a national player and as fans, we should absolutely appreciate this.

In contrast, lets look at how soft the road ahead looks for current Big 12 powerhouse Baylor…

2016 2017
  • 09/02 – Northwestern State
  • 09/10 – SMU
  • 09/17 – at Rice
  • 09/02 – Liberty
  • 09/09 – UTSA
  • 09/16 – at Duke
2018 2019
  • 09/01 – Abilene Christian
  • 09/08 – at UTSA
  • 09/15 – Duke
2020 2021
2022 2023
2024

My god what a joke. Replace Virginia Tech, NC State, and Pitt and add UTSA, Louisiana Tech, and Texas State. That is what Baylor has set themselves up with. Pathetic. FIVE Power 5 games in 9 years. Thats it. West Virginia has six Power 5 games in the next four years alone. SEVENTEEN Power 5 matchups in the next decade. Baylor is 10-ply soft.
